The New Gorillaz single – Doncamatic, will be released by Parlophone Records on 22nd November 2010, as a 7″ picture disc, CD single and digital bundle. The single will contain a radio edit and a remix by nero.

Doncamatic featuring Daley, has topped music blogs since its first play on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last week. Recorded a few weeks ago, this is the first time British singer/songwriter Daley has worked with Gorillaz.

“I actually found Daley washed up on Plastic Beach – covered in oil and singing to a seagull..or was it an albatross? Anyway, I recognise golden pipes when I hear em, so I popped a bag over his head, hosed the boy down and chucked him in the studio with Noodle and her 8-track. I left them to it whilst I stepped outside for a lucky lung or three, and when I popped back in this is what they’d come up with! Am I a genius or what?” Murdoc

Gorillaz are currently on tour in North America ahead of their European dates – a highlight so far being a massive show at Madison Square in the New York last Friday, with performances from Lou Reed and Mos Def.

“Gorillaz ripped the roof off Madison Square Garden last night, and bent the bars of standard pop and hip hop” – New York Post Oct 2010

01: Doncamatic
02: Doncamatic (Instrumental)

Doncamatic constructs a series of electro-funk jabs, that almost immediately, pop, twist and curve themselves in to a vibrant, quirky and anime-like hook. The infectious bassline offers much depth and warmth, whilst the R&B vocals coming from the amazingly smooth British newcomer Daley, give the track a seductive hip-hop flavour. Resulting in the perfect addition when chilling of an evening with friends in the local bar/club, and most definitely one for the top-list on your ipod!
